Key Rules to Remember
Single-use plastic bags are banned in Kenya. Carrying one is a 10-year prison sentence. Use Ziploc bags only.
Phones are for photos only — no messaging or social media while in Tanzania. Go MAD will update parents every couple of days.
Walking boots are mandatory outside Eagle Lodge at all times. Snake risk. Even just to collect water.
Cover shoulders, knees and stomach. Tanzania is culturally conservative. Exception: safari (but no blue or black — tsetse flies).
Malarone: start 2 days before departure, continue 1 week after return. The whole team takes them together each evening.
Nobody ever goes off alone. Project groups, weekend trips, sunrise walks — always together. A Go MAD leader is always present.
