🇰🇪 Kenya eTA (Electronic Travel Authorisation)
Cost: $33.90 USD
Apply: etakenya.go.ke
Usually approved within 24hrs
What you need before applying:
- • Passport photo page (scan or photo)
- • Passport-sized photo of yourself (selfie on phone/laptop is fine)
- • Copy of your flight e-ticket/itinerary
- • ACK Guesthouse booking confirmation (Go MAD will send this)
- • Parental consent letter if under 18 (Go MAD will send template)
- • Mastercard or Visa debit/credit card to pay
How to apply:
- Go to etakenya.go.ke → "Apply Now" → "Tourists & Visitors" → "Individual Application"
- Upload passport bio page and passport photo
- Fill in contact & trip info (Point of entry: Jomo Kenyatta International Airport; departure via land border Isebania)
- Place of stay: ACK Guest House, Nairobi
- Upload ACK booking confirmation and flight e-ticket
- Select standard processing and pay $33.90
- Save or email yourself the application link to check status
- When approved: print the PDF confirmation and bring in hand luggage
Return journey tip: Although the eTA says "single entry", it remains valid for your return through Nairobi as long as you don't leave the East African Community. At JKIA on entry, ask the immigration officer for "1M" (1 month) above the entry stamp — a Go MAD leader will do this for the whole group. If you get "3D" (3 days), you'll need a second eTA.
